11 Fun Things to Do on a Trampoline
Do you have a trampoline? If so, it’s a great way to get everyone active or just a nice way to spend time together. You don’t have to just bounce mindlessly (though that’s fun, too). Here are some creative things to do on a trampoline that the whole family will love!
Before we get into this fun list of things to do on a trampoline, we want to make it clear that jumping on a trampoline can pose a safety hazard. Jump and/or engage in these activities at your own risk. For trampoline risks and safety tips, click HERE.

Things to Do on a Trampoline
1. Get artsy with chalk.
Use sidewalk chalk to draw on the trampoline. Create a family art project or let everyone do their own thing. The chalk washes away easily when it rains or when you get tired of it and spray it with your water hose. You can also use chalk to draw and play games, such as:
- Hopscotch
- Tic Tac Toe
- Hangman
- Charades
- Twister
- Pictionary
And if you have reluctant writers, writing on the trampoline can be a fun way to fit in writing practice without your kiddo really noticing.
2. Have a backyard campout.
Set up a tent on the trampoline for a fun backyard camping adventure with the family. We just hope you don’t have any wiggly sleepers… all that bouncy could make for a tough night’s sleep.
3. Play trampoline basketball.
Get a basketball hoop and small basketball that fits right onto your trampoline, like the Jump Slammer. While bouncing certainly makes dunking easier, we recommend you’re a little more gentle with your trampoline basketball hoop. It’s great for practicing your throws, playing H.O.R.S.E.
4. Play Simon Says
Play a few rounds of Simon Says. Little kids especially love this game, and the trampoline poses an extra challenge for those who are already pretty good at it. Just try standing on one leg for a long time on a bouncy trampoline!
5. Create Learning Games
That basketball hoop mentioned above is great for learning games, like spelling basketball. You can also do different bounces, flips, etc. while answering trivia/test questions.
6. Play Duck, Duck, Goose
Duck, Duck, Goose has a new element of fun when you run around the circle of kids and add bouncing to the mix.
7. Play Ring Around the Rosie
This was a favorite childhood game for me and my siblings, but falling down on the ground has its perils. Sometimes we’d get excited and fall a little too hard. Falling down on the trampoline, however, it’s bouncy and fun!
8. Have a Dance Party
Put on some of your favorite tunes and have a dance party! You could also make it a dance contest and see who has the best moves. Some of your favorite dances may be a little more challenging on the trampoline!
9. Hold Backyard Olympic Games
Use it as part of your own backyard Olympic games! The trampoline is perfect for tumbling or just seeing who can jump the highest or farthest.
10. Have an Outdoor Movie Night
Use a projector and a large white sheet to set up an outdoor movie area on the trampoline! You can add pillows and blankets for everyone to get comfy, and enjoy a cute family comedy together.
If you don’t have a projector, bring your laptop out with you, and snuggle up together.
11. Go Stargazing or Cloud Watching
If you haven’t looked at the clouds for fun shapes in a while, you’re missing out! Kids can find the most surprising shapes!
And there’s nothing better than stargazing from the comfort of your trampoline. Download a stargazing app like Sky View (iPhone) or Stellarium (Android) for identifying constellations.
Well, those are some of our favorite things to do on a trampoline. Do you have something we should add to our list? Let us know in the comments!
